General Location: Montgomery and Chester counties.

Time Frame: 1984-1987

Background: This channel group was a radical departure from the norm for the typical CB groups which I was a part of.  Due to high skip levels and an almost intolerable increase in local idiots, a bunch of us decided to move our home channel out of band. At first we settled on 26.905, but we were still within reach of some modified P.L.L. radios, and the skip level was only marginally lower. We then moved further down to 26.675, and decided to use the F.M. mode. The F.M. mode had better audio fidelity, and it cut through the static a bit better, as well as discouraged other stations from interfering with us.  Most of the members of this group ran either modified ham radios or the so-called "export" radios. This was the last CB group that I would be a part of in the 80's. After this group, I jumped to ham radio completely, and left CB for about 2 or 3 years.
