Background: The Channel 8 group started as a spin-off from our home Channel 11. The guys who started Channel 8 were adults, and they wanted a more "adult-like" forum away from the mostly teenagers who made up Channel 11, who did a bit more clowning around than many of the adults were tolerant of. This group had about a 2 year run before finally disbanding. The only member of this group who's still around is Rebel (Al).

General Location: Norristown and vicinity.
Time Frame: 1977-1978
Background: After the original Channel 8 group faded away, the channel became home to a group of high schoolers, from the general Norristown area, who mostly got into CB when it became a popular social fad. They were a somewhat rival group to us, as they were of a "rougher" demeanor and more likely to pick fights with people they didn't like. Their reign lasted for only about a year, before the "fad" appeal of CB radio pretty much wore off for them.
