The Place: The outskirts of Norristown Pa.

The Time: Fall of 1976

Channel: 22.

Recorded With: A Sears cassette recorder from an SBE Cortez.

The Characters:

Iron Duke: The first person on the recording.  He is voicing his intentions toward pursuing a particular girl he recently met at Navaho's antenna raising party.  It’s also worth noting that Iron Duke had been drinking somewhat, and was not in a totally clear frame of mind.  Not that it would've made much of a difference in his overall attitude.

Navaho: Neighbor of the girl (Sandy) in question.  Navaho just had his base antenna put up by Iron Duke earlier, which is how Iron Duke met the girl.

Background: This could very well have been a psychiatric case study of what happens when you mix raging hormones with a little beer, and then apply a liberal dose of dateless on a Saturday night.  Iron Duke’s scheme for approaching the object of his latest affection ranges from direct, to jokingly, to not at all, and with some extortion thrown in for good measure.  Navaho for his part, was either incredibly dense or cleverly bating Iron Duke into revealing further embarrassing information which he could later use for his own laughs.  You decide. This is the second in a series of clips made during my "week of absense".

Classic One-liner: "You stop laughing, you jealous fool and ask her... Capeche!
