The Place: The outskirts of Norristown Pa.
The Time: Summer of 1978
Channel: 13
Recorded With: A Sears cassette recorder from a Midland 13-885.
The Characters:
Albert: Showing off his talent at creating parodies, Albert created this clip as his tongue in cheek shot at blasting the people who had nothing better to do than to listen to us.
Background: After a recent on-air "battle", Albert thought that the best way to deal with this situation, like most others, was to poke fun at it. This clip is unfortunately one of the few, of many such bits, that I had had the forethought to record. We had done many others, when situations created the need, or we were in "one of those moods". But the spontaneous nature of our creations made it difficult to have the recorder ready.
Note: The "KLZ Monsters" referenced on the clip referred to a local guy, who felt that because he was using his FCC assigned call letters, it gave him the right to talk over top of other people’s conversations without first breaking the channel. KLZ was the first 3 letters of his buddy's call sign. The full story can be found here.
