This Tokai 100mW walkie-talkie was one of my father's original pair, which he had purchased sometime in the 1967-68 timeframe. This unit features a metal case, and a superhet receiver with Volume control and an earphone jack. The radio was a single channel unit which was originally equipped with crystals for Channel 7 plugged in, and it was powered by 7 AA batteries. I can remember using these walkie-talkies down at the New Jersey shore to talk to another boater friend of my father's. So I guess this might count as my "being in CB" even earlier than 1970. But my usage of these was sporadic, and not as a hobby.
